About Us
Our Vision
Civil Techno Lab is a global expert in Building materials and concrete testing, analysis and consultancy, providing customised solutions that can help you to measurably improve performance and profitability through safer, regulatory-compliant and better-engineered products With our experienced and qualified staff and advanced testing technologies we offer total quality services and high-level expertise for commercial clients, governments and graded institutions.
Quality Object
The quality of any product can be determined only through systematic testing, since testing plays an important role in controlling the quality of the finished product. Systematic testing of raw materials like water, cement, steel, aggregates (Sand & Jelly), bricks, concrete blocks etc. is a mandatory to keep the quality of used and greater assurance of quality and long term performance of the concrete structure with respect of its strength and durability.
Our Aim
With the above object, Civil Techno Lab is happy to extend their services in the Civil Engineering Profession as well as to Builders.
All the tests are carried out as per Standard Norms stipulated by the Bureau of Indian Standards in a systematic approach in optimum time and affordable cost.
Services
Carryout compressive strength test on concrete cubes, concrete blocks (both solid and hollow), Paver blocks, Aerocon blocks and bricks (both burnt clay bricks and fly ash bricks) by using Digital Compression Testing Machine (CTM) of 200 tons capacity.
Steel Test
Physical and chemical tests on steel specimens (both reinforcing bars & structural steel)
Concrete Core Test
Core test is commonly required in the area of concrete industry to evaluate the concrete strength and sometimes it becomes the unique tool for safety assessment of existing concrete structures.
Lab Test
Laboratory & field tests on soil – Soil Investigation - Conducting SPT to find out the SBC value of the soil
Other Services
Building Structural Stability and Evaluation
Restoration and Rehabilitation of Buildings
RMC Plant Calibration and Certification
Quantity Estimation and Verification of Bills
NDT TESTING
Rebound Hammer Test
This is basically a surface hardness test & should be used only on concrete where the surface has not carbonated as the results tend to be very high & unrealistic on a carbonated surface. Hence it should be used for younger concrete than for older one. In case of old concrete the carbonated layer should be chipped off or grounded to expose the core concrete & then the hammer test should be conducted. The rebound is affected if the surface is moist.
Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) Test
This test is conducted for assessing the quality & integrity of concrete by passing ultrasound waves through the specimen / RCC member under test. This test can also be used to determine the presence of honeycombs, voids, cracks etc. The instrument consists of a transmitter & a receiver (two probes). The time of travel for the wave to pass from the transmitter to the receiver when kept opposite to each other is recorded in the ultrasonic instrument. The distance between the two probes (path length) can be physically measured.
Electrical Resistivity Test
This test is carried out to assess the quality / uniformity of concrete at various depths. The instrument consists of a four probe device. Electrical current is passed through the outer probes & the potential drop is measured by the inner probes. From the current & voltage drop measurements, the resistivity of concrete can be measured. This resistivity can be related to quality of concrete.
Cover Meter Test
This test is useful for the determination of concrete cover, location of embedded rebars & estimation of size of embedded rebars. The instrument is based on the magnetic technique & is calibrated for different purposes. The cover thickness is important from the point of view of estimation of initiation of corrosion. The location & estimation of bar diameter becomes useful in structures where there are no structural drawings available.
